We held a wake here. The food was absolutely superb. The service and welcome was second to none. I cannot find fault whatsoever. Lovely pub Lovely staff
A really good, honest Sunday roast very reasonably priced. Firstly they had real ales. Not a huge selection but a good local IPA which hot the spot. The roast dinner was basic but plentiful and a joy t work through. Half a roast chicken, well cooked and seasoned with more than enough veg and gravy. It was a real plate-licking experience. The staff: Busy, grace under pressure. They were excellent and genuine. Thank you. This is a family-friendly pub. So feeding-time on a Sunday can lead to an atmosphere more on the Whacky Warehouse than a quiet country pub. That is understandable. The menu had some tantalising Indian/other-exotic dishes and we will definitely return at a later date (maybe on a weeknight) to give these a try. All-in-all a lovely place. Give it a try!

My wife and I went to The Stag recently and had a fantastic time. The food was delicious from the starters through to the desserts. They have a very good menu catering for all tastes. The service was excellent with friendly staff and the large beer garden is so nice on a sunny day. We'll definitely be going back very soon. It's got to be the best pub in the area. Recommended.
